Black History Month Study: History of Black Resistance
“History of Black Resistance & Why All Allies Must Continue to Step Up.” The Dismantling Racism Committee of Claremont United Methodist Church has worked to bring this important, rich, and uncomfortable series to you as allies for Good Trouble (“Good Trouble” named by the giant, the late John Lewis, civil rights champion and member of the United States House of Representatives).
The hope for this challenging Black History Series is to appreciate how the heavy load of the racial and social justice work has primarily been carried by the Black community at great sacrifice in bold, daring and amazing ways. Our nation and all of us are the beneficiaries. Now, as allies, we are called to do all we can to help carry the heavy load to continue the needed change.
